And Why It Scares Us
The Art of Doing Nothing
The Art of Doing Nothing
You are finally on leave. You sit down to relax, and suddenly… guilt. Your mind starts racing with a To-Do list for 2026. Why is rest so terrifying?
The Truth: Because in a world that worships hustle, “doing nothing” feels like a sin. But here at SOPHA, we know that rest is a rite. It is the soil in which your new self grows.
The Practice: This week, I invite you to practice “Womb Breathing.”
-
Place your hands over your lower belly (your creative center).
-
Inhale, imagining the breath filling your womb like a balloon.
-
Exhale, imagining the balloon deflating.
-
Repeat for 3 minutes. This connects you to your center of creation. You don’t need to produce anything right now. You just need to incubate.
Look Ahead: Imagine doing this breathwork while listening to the waves at Umhlanga Rocks. That’s exactly how we start our mornings at the Durban Retreat. Have you paid your deposit yet?
So this is me opening my heart and arms and welcoming all who are ready to remember with me how to tap into our organic essence.

LOOK FORWARD TO
Next Step: If your Inner Genie is craving more of this freedom, you need to see what we have planned for May 2026 in Durban.
It’s basically “Mantlwane” for your soul, but with luxury accommodation and the ocean.
